Irish Coffee
It’s possible that one of the only true Irish drinks that Americans enjoy is Irish coffee. The only way to go is with the traditional Irish recipe. Into a stemmed glass, put two teaspoons of brown sugar. Fill the glass about 1/3 full with Irish whiskey, then add 2/3 very hot, very strong freshly brewed coffee. Stir well until all of the sugar is dissolved, then carefully float a collar of lightly whipped cream. Don’t stir any more, and serve without a spoon or a straw – the hot coffee should be sipped through the cool cream.
