FPS Increasing !
Hi guys, If anyone know how to increase FPS ? can talk in a topic about it? mine is around 40FPS in a 8v8 match and 90FPS in a 4x4. and my current FPS around 100. I think my computer is good 2.5ghz proccesor, 4 gb RAM, 1G nvidia my internet connection is not the best -> 256Kbps.
I saw guys talking about 200FPS I'm fair far away from the canada server (3,700mi) but german are most far away and get low ping.

Re: FPS Increasing !
40 fps is more than enough.
You dont really need more than 30.
Improve your internet speed by setting up your router correctly, using port forwarding, and dont use crap internet.
If you have more than like 150 ping, you should think about better internet.

Re: FPS Increasing !
your actual FPS is dependent on your graphics card. you can either upgrade your graphics card or attempt to use game booster. game booster closes background programs that can be leeching.
Re: FPS Increasing !
there are couple of programs that you can use to increase your fps if you really want
GameBooster
PerfectDisk
the perfectdist is trial only but you can dl it from torrent i guess, use perfect disk first to defrag all of your pc and that will make it faster then use gamebooster. you can also use gamebooster to defrag your crossfire folder only and its freeware, defrag crossfire like 1 time per week or so.

Re: FPS Increasing !
Well Rambo from what I see your graphics card is top with 1G nvidia, and you have enough memory in your pc with 4G RAM the weakest hardware is your processor but it still should be enough,
You connection is really low 256kb/s is low and that is why in Germany or me in Holland can have better ping we have mostly a 20Mb/s connection and now with fiberglass we are upgrading to 60 or 100 Mb/s witch lots of ppl already have.
I think your connection don’t give enough data for your graphics card to work at its full potential,
I have 2G RAM, Graphics Card 380Mb Nvidia and get from 50 to 60 FPS on a busy server,
Try a ofline game and check your FPS it should be much higher…

these are not correct... Television and movies choosing 30 was an engineering decision not completely dependent on physiology.

This is true, I saw a program about this where they did a test with several people to see who can see what, and the results varied from person to person, some only being able to notice anything under 20, others anything under 80, so it depends on the individual, not sure what would effect it, if its age, corrective lenses, genetic backround. Theres no telling, but it did show that what people can actually see depends on the person.

Re: FPS Increasing !
The maximum FPS anyone needs is 100 (about 60 hz). The human eye can only process 100 frames per second, on average. Anything more than this, your eye cannot tell the difference. So long as you can hold a solid 100 FPS irrespective of smoke, multiple player models, explosions, flashes, etc, you are pretty much good to go.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frame_rate#How_many_frames_per_second_can_the_human_eye_see.3F
What is important to note, however, is that yes, your eye can see and measure the difference between a flickering black/white image until it hits 100 FPS (at which point the screen looks grey because they frame data starts to mesh because your brain is failing to differentiate between the black and white screens before it switches again, resulting in a "mixed" image). This is a test with a simple contrast difference, which is relatively simple for the brain to process. When you start stepping into the field of complex, non-linear imaging, the closer you get to 100 FPS, the less the brain can process. For gaming purposes, around 60-80 FPS is the breakpoint for where more FPS =/= better performance. Beyond that, your brain fails to process each individual frame difference (resulting again in a "mixed" image) - two people watching two different screens showing the same sequence, one at 60 FPS and one at 80 FPS, probably will see and process the exact same images.

Re: FPS Increasing !
I agree that the human eye can process 100 frames per second.
I agree that this game runs very nice when its at anything above 50 fps.
BUT, you dont NEED anything above 30.
the difference beetween 30 and 50 is so small, it would take an expert to notice.
the only real thing that is going to change is how smooth the edges of your screen are.
if you were playing a computer intensive game such as crysis, you would notice things such as landscape detail, particle density, and water effects.
but you aren't.
crossfire is a crappy mmofps.
but its like the only one without a major hacker player base.
basically, im standing by the fact that all you need is 30 fps.
oh, and btw, im gettin about 125ish fps on my new computer

Re: FPS Increasing !
The only stipulation I would add to that Dennis, is that you need 30 FPS at all times, even if there are 5 smoke grenades and 4 players in front of you. That's where a better performance machine helps out.
